Chairman
Shri Umesh Chandra took over the charge as Chairman of Bangiya Gramin Vikash Bank on 3rd November, 2012.
Prior to taking over the charge of this new assignment, Shri Chandra was AGM, United Bank of India, Regional Inspection Unit, Patna.
Born in Allahabad, the "Holy City" on 20th June 1963, Shri Chandra has been a career banker, having started his career with United Bank of India on 16th December 1985 as a Probationary Officer. An Engineering Graduate holding B.Tech Degree from
I.T.B.H.U, now IIT, Varanasi and both parts of CAIIB. He is a professional banker with around 27 years of experience in different position and exposure in all the areas of banking.
Despite making significant improvements in all the areas relating to financial viability, profitability and competitiveness, there are concerns that banks have not been able to reach and bring vast segment of the population, especially the under-privileged sections of the society into the fold of basic banking services.
He opts to join Gramin Bank with a passion for Financial Inclusion that can truly lift the standard of life of the rural populace and the disadvantaged and thereby achieving inclusive growth. At the same time, he is equally concerned for the expansion of the bank and its profitability and committed to make BGVB as one of the best managed Bank.
