Bangiya Gramin Vikash Bank came into existence by amalgamation of five erstwhile Regional Rural Bank, Namely,
01. MALLABHUM GRAMIN BANK
02. GAUR GRAMIN BANK
03. SAGAR GRAMIN BANK
04. NADIA GRAMIN BANK
05. MURSHIDABAD GRAMIN BANK
as per provision under Sec 23(A) of RRB Act 1976 with its Head Office at NH 34, Chuapur, Berhampore, Murshidabad, Westbengal
The Amalgamation have been made in public interest as well as to put more emphasis on Rural Development by RRBs
The main focus area of the Bank is developing Economy of Rural Bengal by providing financial assistance for Agriculture and allied activities, Trade, Industry and other productive Activities

This The Bank has a coverage of the eleven districts of west Bengal .
